Every Jetta comes powered by a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that puts out 147 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. The base Jetta S model comes equipped with a standard six-speed manual transmission to provide swift, smooth shifts. However, if you prefer more control over your engine's power, you can opt for the available eight-speed automatic transmission that comes as standard on every other trim level.
Both powertrain setups deliver more than enough power for drama-free acceleration on the freeway. Technology
The VW Jetta comes standard with a clean, crisp 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that feels responsive and user-friendly. The infotainment system features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, a mobile hotspot, Bluetooth, and two USB ports.
Higher trim levels come equipped with a larger and more vibrant 8-inch touchscreen pre-installed with the latest MIB3 software. This technology allows enhanced processing speed and performance for navigation and voice recognition. Higher trim levels also come equipped with ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch digital gauge cluster, wireless device charging, satellite radio, and customizable ambient interior lighting.
For entertainment purposes, the Jetta comes fitted with a four-speaker stereo system as standard. However, if you prefer better audio quality, you can opt for the six-speaker stereo or the premium eight-speaker Beats Audio system. Other available features include a universal garage door opener, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone automatic climate control, remote start, and proximity keyless entry.
Trim Levels
- VW Jetta S - The base Jetta S offers the most favorably priced model across the list. Its standard features include a 6.5-inch infotainment system, cloth upholstery, Wi-Fi hotspot, and two USB ports.
- VW Jetta SE - The SE model features an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment. It also adds heated front seats, a sunroof, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more as standard features.
- VW Jetta R-Line - The R-Line comes available with either an automatic or manual transmission. Most of its features resemble the SE, although it boasts unique exterior styling. The trim also features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, upgraded differential, and fog lights.
- VW Jetta SEL - The SEL only comes with an automatic transmission. It comes equipped with most of the optional features on the lower trims as standard gear. It also represents the first trim level to spot the digital cluster and 8-inch infotainment system as standard equipment. The VW Jetta SEL features rain-sensing windshield wipers, lane departure warning, and a lane-keeping assist system in addition to the standard driver assistance features. Other standard features include adaptive cruise control and automatic high-beam headlights.
- SEL Premium - The SEL Premium undoubtedly serves as the best-equipped trim level. It adds genuine leather upholstery front seats, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and navigation. As you would expect, the SEL Premium packs just about every feature that remains optional for all other trim levels. However, even the base S comes well-equipped to provide a safe and comfortable commute to and from home.
